About Me

Ty Arbogast was born in Enterprise, Alabama in January, 2010. He was drawn to speed when he was two years old. He enjoyed playing with Lightening McQueen from Cars and Hot Wheels. When he was 4 years old, he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana from Charleston, South Carolina. At the age of 5, he attended his first street karting race at a town festival. Before the year was over, he had his first kart and was ready to begin training, His family chose for him to race a kid kart chassis by Top Kart USA. Ty became #15 and acquired the nickname T-Y. Ty had his first race when he was 6 years old at New Castle Motorsports Park. That year he also raced in Camden, Ohio and at Whiteland Raceway Park.
Ty’s first year of karting was a roller coaster ride. He spent his first year training more than he did placing in the top 5. He flipped his kart once and had many wrecks but he didn't miss a race. He even got to see the inside of an ambulance. During the off season, he spent more time practicing at Whiteland Raceway Park than anywhere else. WRP quickly became his favorite track. Ty was fast to make friends in both racing leagues that he was a part of.
Ty’s second year of racing Kid Karts was a year of mostly ups! He raced a new motor nick-named “Grandpa”. All year he progressed. He raced well, flipped once, won many races, won pole position a couple times, and placed in the top 3 in all the racing clubs that he races in for the season in points!
Ty’s third year of racing started by him changing his number from 15 to 015. He moved up from the kid kart racing class to Yamaha Rookie and begin racing a Benik kart. He only raced a handful of races in that class. While performing well, he was instructed to move up again to Yamaha Jr Sportsman. He chose to become a part of team VemmeKart USA about mid season and began racing a VemmeKart USA cadet chassis. Moving up to Junior Sportsman has had its ups and downs. He began racing with much older and more experienced racers. This particular season was a learning season and Ty raced his own time instead of the other racers. In the 2018 racing season, Ty won one race at WRP.
The 2019 season was a lot of fun! Ty moved up to Micro Swift and had many good finishes and ended up finishing the season racing in the Mini Swift racing class. Ty raced his first national series race in the USPKS (United States Pro Karting Series) and placed in the top 10 against racers from all around the world. He also raced for a cure to raise money for Riley Children's Hospital.
Ty was diagnosed with the Auto Immune Disease Alopecia Areata in February of 2020.
During the 2020 season, Ty will be racing Nitro Kart and will be racing in the LO206 Class as well as Mini and Micro swift. This year he plans to travel and race in a few national leagues as well as local ones.
When Ty grows up he plans to attend Purdue University and race the Purdue Grand Prix. While at Purdue, as of at age 8, he plans to study engineering. His hopes and dreams are to race Formula 1 so that he can compete all over the world. He would also love to race in the Indy Car series. His favorite Formula One driver's are Sebastian Vettel, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. His favorite Indy Car Driver's are Scott Dixon, Conor Daly and Tony Kanaan (all of which he has already met). His favorite NASCAR driver is Joey Logano.
